Homelessness and Housing Society Annual Grants Cheque Presentation Invitation
On behalf of the Board of Directors of The
Surrey Homelessness and Housing Society, I am so pleased to invite you to the
Cheque Presentation for the 2010 Annual Grants from the Surrey Homelessness and
Housing Fund. There are seven funding recipients at this year’s
ceremonies.
The Surrey
Homelessness and Housing Society was established in 2006 by the City of
Surrey. The City allocated $9.6 million from its Affordable Housing
Reserve Fund to the Society to address homelessness and housing issues in
Surrey by creating new partnership opportunities, leveraging funding from
senior government and other sources as well as providing a mechanism for
business and community members to make a charitable donation. We have
allocated over $1.25 Million since our inception and will be announcing almost
$200,000 in additional grants for our 2010 Annual Grants program.
“Our
investment is beginning to make a tremendous difference in creating a city
where everyone has a home” says Judy Villeneuve, President of the Surrey
Homelessness and Housing Society and Chair of Surrey’s Social Planning
Committee. “We are now beginning to see how small investments can make a
large impact and we’re proud to be both leading and supporting projects that
will make a difference to so many people in this city.”
Please join
us in honouring these amazing community initiatives.
